Semiahmoo, Blaine Washington From the shore we can see Canada, heck! our cell phones were on Rogers wireless network, the equivalent of ATT Wireless in the US. We came here for a weekend courtesy of my new employer. I haven't met most of my co-workers but I will tomorrow. We arrived earlier today and went out to the beach then picked up some pizza and after that we went for schmores. We have a whole day tomorrow and then a banquet in the evening.

Cloudy tank...

As you can imagine, this is about our tropical fish. about 3 weeks ago we started with a fish tank we knew nothing about fish but thought it would make our place more alive. I personally love animals so I am having fun caring for our tetras and chinese algae cleaner fish. We started with 4 Neon tetras and last week we added 2 red eye tetras 2 other red fish and a Chinese algae fish. Everything went well until the middle of last week. we noticed one of the Red eye tetras was stuck in the corner of the tank and thought it was sick. I noticed the tail was half missing, upon closer observation I noticed that the bigger tetra was nibbling on it. 2 or 3 more days passed and the small red eye was alive and trying to eat but it was missing even more of the tail. At this time he was having trouble moving and was stuck in one place for most of the day. I also noticed the rest of the fish were missing small parts of their tails. I was not going to have the rest of our fish cannibalized so I decided for the capital punishment for the bully. I took him out and gave him the toilet. A day after, the small red eye was not eating or even moving much anymore. I knew it didn't have a chance so I also gave him the T.

Yesterday, I noticed a cloudy tank and did some research this is what I came up with.

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've posted. Ok now things are getting back to normal in my life. Cindy and I are spending more time because I haven't worked at Apple. I am happy to have our weekends and evenings back. We have more time that we decided to get an aquarium. We went to the pet store today and bought a 10 Gal. tank. We were sure we were gonna get the fish but were deferred by the sales person to set up the tank first and then start with some fish.
In other stuff my dad is almost back from Mexico, him and Gusta will be back on Tuesday night after a whole month down there. Mi dad's birthday is tomorrow so I'll give him a call in the morning. Pictures of the tank are coming...

Ocean Shores

We took a day trip to the beach in Washington coast. It was cloudy all day but it wasn't cold. We decided to get on a moped and spent about an hour riding. We ate at Shilo Inn Restaurant and had a delicious dinner. On our way back we took this picture of the Nuclear plant's cooling towers.

While doing a target run yesterday we came into the parking lot of to find many police officers lined up and had about 10 teenagers and an adult on their knees while they were being searched. They had a van and they were inspecting it. We didn't stay long enough to know wether there were any drugs or not.

On my way to work there was this car belly up. The entrance to I-5 was closed and i had to go farther to enter the freeway. There were no ambulances or fire fighters so I assume the driver was OK. Perhaps a police chase.

Got my car back

Just in time for my wedding I picked up my car today. I also returned the rental that I had.The car was returned to me very clean and also very shiny all over. The cost of the fix was about 5000 but the insurance paid for it. Jason from Burien Toyota called me last night when I was at work and asked me to pick up after 5 but I was working until 9. I picked it up today and I'm so very happy to have it back.

Tulip Festival

More tulips are going to be showing up here.

Tulips on the background shot trough the mesh that holds the cut flowers. Workers snap the flowers off the ground and create bunches of twelve to sell. The mesh pictured is the base of the wooden frame that holds the flowers and get stacked for transportation. Tulips are kept cold for a longer life. We were told to change the water every day and add a couple of ice cubes to keep them longer.

My car is finally getting fixed

After weeks of waiting, the insurance finally authorized the repair of my car. I was in an accident on 3/27 and yesterday I got a call from the dealership about fixing my car. I called twice this morning and I haven't got a response. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. I'm renting a car on the mean time.

Nothing edible ever has done this to me, where I need the flavor every day to feel better. It is like chocolate has taken over my brain and I have to have some. This chocolate is from a gourmet chocolate store in Napa California. Chocolate, I'll have to say is a really good part of my life after my future wife and my family.

Alright, I have posted stuff and no text to go with it. Isn't it bad to get teased and not know anything? Well an explanation to the past pictures.
First I have a Google Map picture but no description. This was when I found out that we were getting the apartment there and it is on a very good area with access to grocery stores, food, and bus lines. The manager is very nice and looks like a good person.

After that you see cop vehicles, I wasn't able to find anything out about it, there was no news about it. It may have been some preventive measures when trying to pick up someone with a warrant. I am right now on my way to work and expect to be working all weekend. The weather has been grey and rainy but other than that it hasn't been too bad.

Don't ask... I didn't stop to see what happened.

Federal Way WA.
Over a dozen police cars and bikes were on the side of the road. No action was clearly visible but with the armored car there there was indication of a large scale sting or hostage situation. I am going to keep checking the news to see if there was something else.

Well it's been busy for me lately, been working, on my new job, last week I had training all day and it was pretty intensive. Sitting on a computer watching videos and listening to instructions is not very fun. I did learn a lot though but still doing some training. Next week I'm going back to the desk for more intensive training.

This morning we woke up to a brand new blanket of fresh snow. The temperature is 31 degrees F. Buses are running and a lot of cars are also running me however, I'm sick and I'm staying at home Temperature is expected to go up to 40 degrees which will be enough to melt a lot of snow.

Mushrooms and eggs Breakfast

So I got home from working out today and I didn't have anything to eat. We always keep eggs, and veggies and salsa.
From anyone who knows me they will tell you that I like to watch the Food Network, so I rewinded the tapes in my head and pictured in my mind the following:

Ingredients for 1 serving:
1 Egg ( at room temperature)
2 cups of water
1 Tsp. White vinegar
2 medium size white mushrooms (about a hand full sliced)
Sliced white onions, (about the same amount as mushrooms)
1 garlic clove
1/2 tomato
1 tsp. Parmesan cheese
Cilantro for garnish
Home made tomato salsa (hot spicy) served cold.
2-3 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
1 Tbsp. Sesame oil
Salt & Pepper to taste

This looks like a lot of ingredients but the volume will decrease when cooked because of the loss of water via evaporation during the cooking process.

Pour 2 cups of water on a sauce pan and let boil, on a 8" pan pour a TBSP of EVOO, let it warm at medium high heat and then add the peeled garlic clove, (Don't walk away this will take about 20 seconds) keep turning it until it starts getting almost golden. Take the clove out and let it sit on the side. Introduce the onion and season with salt and pepper to taste. When the onion is caramelized about 2 minutes, add the mushrooms, add another Tbsp of EVOO, season again. By now the water should be boiling, add the vinegar stir the mix to distribute the vinegar and then crack the egg and drop in boiling water (Poach it). Let it boiling for about 2 minutes (I like my yolks soft so if you prefer hard yolks leave another minute or two). While that's done keep flipping the onion, mushroom, etc. add the third Tbsp. of EVOO if it looks dry, you can make that call depending on how lean you want it.
Chop the caramelized garlic and and add, immediately start folding it in and ad the TBSP of Sesame oil, be patient, this smells soooo good by now but you are almost done. Take out the poached egg out of the water, onto a plate.
Add the tomato to your mushroom pan and fold in for another 30 seconds. Serve next to the egg, garnish the mushrooms with the parmesan cheese, sprinkle the chopped cilantro BAM! Season your egg with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish the egg with a spoon full of salsa, Enjoy!

Tax time is coming up, and we are all about to receive our W2's If you are like me, you will find out that the sooner you file the less stress you will have when the tax filing deadline approaches. Most people I know wait until April but if you have a return, the cash can be useful right after the holidays and just in time for Valentine's day. Doing some research, a couple of years ago I found that there are several places online that you can do this for free. I found this out about 3 years ago and I have been filing online since. This year I thought it would be nice to share it with you so you can use it as well. This is the link to the IRS website. Follow the instructions, you will get options about which vendor to use. I use Turbotax as that is what I am used to even before the free service.

New Year New start!

Starting a new year, 07 should be a great year, many good things are coming however many things aren't really things I want to remember about 06.
Some are minor and some are not so minor, the latest, my job ended with my employer of 6 years. I am very happy however about many other opportunities that will come in 07. As far as what plans I have for this year, I plan in getting more into profesional photography. I'm currently working on a new website for my portfolio. I am going to purchase some equipment that I still need. Also I am working on been more active about marketing my photography.
I have also started all last month (December) getting back to the gym and plan to keep it up.
Well in short, every year I plan to become better, however I never document my resolutions so by the end of January I always loose my target. This will help this year, I hope.
To anyone who's reading Happy New Year! Be who you are but be the best at it.

Who is Gerald Ford?

Gerald Ford was the 38th President of the United States, became the first and only president in the history of the U.S. to become president without having to be elected. He was born in Omaha Nebraska in July 14, 1913 and passed on Tuesday December 26th, 2006.
Ford married Elizabeth Bloomer Warren, and had four children. He became vice president in 1973-1974 by nomination after the resignation of Aspiro Agnew. President Nixon nominated him to take the position on October 12.
Ford became president after the resignation of Nixon due to the Watergate scandal on August 9, 1974.
On September 8, 1974 Ford pardoned Nixon, claiming it was in the best interest of the nation. The Nixon Pardon was highly controversial and critics descrived it as a "Corrupt Bargain".
Ford was narrowly defeated in elections by Jimmy Carter in 1976. Ford died of heart complications at the age of 93 at his home in Rancho Mirage.

Today, we are getting ready to have some of my mom's tamales. She's been in the kitchen all day, I went to the store for some last minute shopping I had to do. Then to Cindy's house to get some last wrapping done. We got back and the tamales were being wrapped. My brother is home. My sister and Raul aren't coming today as they had guests coming over.
