Noah will be two next week, can’t believe he’s doing so much.
He’s a very sweet boy, and momma loves it. He brings momma a pillow when she’s sitting down on the floor, he wakes her up with kisses, he also likes to drive her crazy.

Lately, the weather has been bad to do anything. First Noah got sick on Halloween weekend, so he missed this candy collecting event. He still got some here at home but missed out on walking around. Here are some pictures to see full size you can click on it and will take you to our Flickr page.

Noah’s interests right now:
TV: Cars, Jungle Junction, Backyardigans, Curious George, Finding Nemo. Sesame Street characters Elmo and Grover.
Toys: Cars anything. mostly diecast toys
Books: Anything colorfull but mostly Elmo and Grover
Music: Little Einstein, Lady Gaga, Pitbull’s calle 8 (Rumba), Black Eyed Peas’ “I got a feeling”
Snacks/Candy: M&M’s, Raisins, Poky, gummy bears, Steamed apples, peach flavored Jello.
Favorite word to say: No!
Favorite activities: Giving momma gray hairs because of his climbing everywhere, and jumping off.

We apologize for not updating on a more regular basis! Our family is doing well. Noah is just over 20 months and growing so much! He seems to be leaving so many clothes this month (October), which tells us he has indeed grown! We are so grateful to have such a healthy and active baby boy. He talks so much also! Maybe I will make a posting on just his recent words and phrases over the last two months...there are lots of them!

Let’s see - what did Noah do in September? He discovered the movie Cars...which is a favorite! Along with the movie his collection of the movies character cars has grown! He has discovered many new books that he enjoys to read. Additionally, daddy put out a huge Thomas the train set table that has kept Noah’s imagination growing. He enjoys helping mommy and daddy with things around the house. Momma with the dishes and baking, and helping daddy with geeky stuff. As a family, we went to the Puyallup Fair, visited family when possible, and took many walks around our local farmers market. On one market day, Noah actually got to see a fire truck up close!

Today is Noah's 18 month check up and shots. He was a really good kid yesterday, he went to abuelito's Alvarado's and played a lot, he also had milk out of a cup with some cookies that Abuelito gave him. Abuelito made chicken and veggies for dinner.
After we came back, Abuelita Lopez made him Champurrado, he had it by him self then he took a bath and went to sleep.
Before his appointment we have other errands to make but I hope his day goes good today.

Almost 1 1/2 years old

Noah will be 1.5 years old tomorrow. at this time his vocabulary is increasing and he's surprising us every day. Among the things he's doing now, he can take off his socks, he brushes, (with a "Sonicare") he flosses, drinks out of a regular cup, with ocasional spills but hey even I do that some times. The words he's mentoned lately: Carne (meat) agua, mama, dadda, abuelito/a, uncle, auntie, Trey (his cousin), Dayton (his cousin), hamburger, Jello, apple sauce, thank you, I love you, Cherry, candy, leche, bena (Zapoteco for Grandpa/old man), Truck, Nena , up, no, help, chocolate, cookie, apple, lemon, ball, basket ball airplane, bug, ema (neighbor's dog's name), cat, All these words he's saying consistently but he's immitating many others and tries to say what we are saying. He has many signs for things he can't yet pronounce, such as, Garage door closing he puts his two fists together as if he was clapping with them. When he wants his music he starts the signs that go with itsy bitsy spider. He touches his head to ask for a hat, his grandpa plays the clarinette, when he wants to see it or hears it he blows on his index finger. He's a little clown he likes attention and if someone is not paying attention he will get on your face and call your name (or what ever he wants to call you) in my case "dadda" if i am still not looking at him he will grab my head and make me give him eye contact. He will fall or do funny stuff to get attention. He lately came up with walking like an old man and walks around with his back half bent to make momma laugh. He's got his 1 1/2year appointment with the doctor. We will be posting the results as soon as we can know. Noah has been swimming and loves the water, which felt good during these hot days which were upwards of the 105 degrees in many places. We have been eating outdoors because it is too hot to be in the kitchen. We will be posting more. Shortly.

By Omar Alvarado - Yesterday, momma went to shower, while Noah and I stayed in the room after his bath, we decided to get some gold fish and when we realized we were eating in bed. Noah had a little accident and I told him Momma would get mad at us if she found out. Noah was the one to tell momma, he some how made signs and tried to speak until she figured what had happened. We were both amazed of how much he can communicate with signs and some words.
We are so proud of Noah.

We were so happy to have Omar home on Friday! We took Noah to the Woodland park zoo in Seattle for the first time! The weather was great! Noah enjoyed all the space and animals that we got to see. 15 Month Checkup

We took Noah to the doctor for his checkup. We feared three shots, but he only needed two. Still two too many! He is such a strong boy though, and daddy holds him so tight and makes him feel better so fast. Noah is doing very well. It seems he has a very well developed vocabulary for his age. We think it’s just the way he loves books, flashcards, and enjoys us reading to him. Daddy has been reading to our angel since he was still in the belly! Noah and I are lucky to have Omar.

Some new words he began to say a few weeks ago, or earlier actually - outside, airplane, fresa “strawberry”, abuelitos “grandparents”, auntie. This is all I can think of so late in the evening. He is well over two dozen words...at least.

Fifteen month stats: 29lbs, 33” tall.

Today was Noah’s first time to Skagit county to see the tulips! I think he enjoyed them. Although he paid way more attention to the small airplanes that kept flying over us, and a couple of horses that were nearby. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day though. The weather was perfect! Clear blue skies, no wind, and not too hot. We had a picnic and Noah had so much fun just hanging out. We hope to make this a tradition. I am blessed to have my angel and such a sweet husband. We will post more pictures soon, so keep checking back!

March was another fast month! And somewhat of a blur since ALL of us got sick! Yes, Noah got sick for the first time....13 months without an illness, we have been lucky and blessed with our little angel! He didn’t get a fever...it was just a bad runny nose that lasted about three to four days. He struggled most while trying to sleep, poor baby. Then when we thought we were all in the clear, momma got sick on her birthday of all days! Oh and Omar was sick first!

After Noah bounced back from being sick it was back to normal! He is a very active boy and loves to learn ALL the time. He sits or stands to listen to what you have to say while explaining something. When he hears a word...he tries right away to repeat it. He likes to see family come over to our place...he shows things to them and wants to talk with them. It’s so cute when they leave...Noah gets very sad. :( We have no updates on weight or height, but he is starting to leave so many clothes! We can tell he has grown and appears taller, but we are not sure if he has reached 32 inches or has passed it! Our baby is getting big, that’s for sure!

It's been too long since momma wrote anything! Omar and I both agree that February was a super crazy month....and it went by so fast. We will say it was a very important month though. Our Noah turned 1! He had mastered walking by eleven months. By his one year he also had ten teeth, currently he is getting four more....which will make it 14 teeth by thirteen months! He actually got his first two teeth in by four months...which is actually pretty early. For his one year checkup he was 25 pounds and 31" tall. Our baby grew almost an inch a month! Crazy!

On Noah's actual birthday, daddy was able to take a day off and we spent the whole day with our baby and spoiled him! We got a visit from cousin Maya and Dayton that morning - and they brought him a gift...thank you! Then it was off to the Seattle Aquarium! Luckily it was sunny, still a little windy by the water, but overall couldn't have for a better day. Noah enjoyed walking around and exploring. Afterwards, we went to have fish and chips on the pier....where Noah was all smiles! That evening, Noah got his homemade mini cake - with his little baby cookie monster on top. Noah enjoyed his day we hope....oh and had his cake too! We had a great day as a family!

Birthday party was great. Noah was a bit shy at first but warmed up at the end. We rented out a little place since our place is way too small for our family. The theme was Sesame Street, first birthday. Ohh, and of course Omar dressed his little man so handsome!

I am so grateful for my little boy and his daddy! We have been blessed with our Noah and all the laughs and smiles he gives us everyday. We love watching him grow and learn so much, he's is our sweet little angel. I'm sure I forgot a lot of things...but I'll write more later.

We have been ok but busy, I've been sick for a little over a week but luckily Noah is not. Today we had a delicious dinner that Cindy made. It was DELICIOSA!, She made lamb on her Mom's recipe. It was so tender. I'm taking some for lunch tomorrow. Well as time goes, we are hoping weather gets better so we can go back to the market to get fresh fruit. Also so we can go to the Aquarium and the Zoo, his auntie gave him a pass to the Zoo/Aquarium. Here is a recent picture:

It's been a whole year of having our little angel...it sure has gone by fast! I am very blessed to have him, he is such a sweet and loving little boy. I have cherished all these special days and moments with Noah and his dad. My men complete my life! A year ago today at 11:11 PM a beautiful big baby was born, ever since, my life has changed. There has not been a sad day for me, because looking at his smile makes my whole day. I have been very lucky to have both my beautiful, wonderful wife, and my handsome little man. They both make my days at work go by fast even when I'm having a rough one. I have received a picture from him and momma every day since I went back to work 3 weeks after he was born. I've seen my boy change from a very quiet baby laying on the bed to the boy that runs to hug me when he hears me unlock the door. I am blessed to have both of these special peeps in my life. My loves, my life.

Our angel has been super busy lately! He's picked up walking very well, he's eating so much, also he seems to be learning so much because he is curious about everything! And he's starting to say more words. He knows how to identify body parts...like his feet, legs, tummy, ear, it's so cute. He likes his Leapfrog and likes it when we do flashcards too.

Momma and daddy both love when Noah just comes at us and gives us kisses, we don't have to ask - we just know that he will do it on his own...which makes it that more special. Noah is always busy reading. Things he is into right now are Seasame Street like Elmo, Ernie, Cookie Monster and Big Bird. He is into Handy Manny because he is my little fix it man when daddy is gone. He just got into Barney...a little. Oh and he has always like Diego. His one year check up is fast approaching! Which also means his big birthday is coming up! We are so excited. I think I may burn out my little camera that day....taking so many pictures! We went to visit tia Teresa today and saw the kids as well. Here are some pictures from today. Lilah is walking and running....and because of this it seemed that Noah was encouraged to walk even further at his auntie's today! It was so exciting...he's almost there! They say Noah is a lot heavier than his auntie.....and I didn't believe them until I held cute little Lilah. I love her earings...so cute. We are getting excited for Noah's birthday, I am planning on taking the day off from work so I can be with him and Cindy that day, I don't know what we'll do but I want to take them out. For his birthday party, we are having a gathering of our families to blow the candle and have some cake. We sent invitations to his Abuelitos and local tios/as and cousins. We will be having a bigger party for his 2nd birthdays where we can invite more family and friends.

It's been a cold couple of weeks, I have been working short days due to the snow and ice on the streets and highways. Today we got alot of snow on top of the 5-6 inches that acumulated overnight. I'm thinking I'm not going to work tomorrow but if there are buses I may go. The holidays are almost here and I hope the following week gets better. Here are some pictures we have taken. 10 Month update...

Noah turned ten months this past week.....can't say it enough - but the time flies! We enjoy every new thing he does and all the smiles he gives everyday, even when he is fighting a tummy virus...he will still smile for us. Noah is a very brave little boy, and our little angel. He has started to point to things with his pointer finger, and he seems to understand so much. When we will say something to him, just the way he looks at us and the way he reacts, makes us sure he does understand. He is our little smart boy, we are blessed! Momma is very glad for her little baby and her sweet husband. Just 2 more months until his BIG day! We are super excited! I mean...Noah is super excited! Check out some new pictures from last week.

It is snowing right now and we are staying warm. Noah is feeling better after his tummy was feeling sick, he's smiling. He keeps eating well but he may have lost some weight. The way he eats Im sure he'll be back to his normal weight in a week or so.

Ha ha! No we didn't take our baby into all that mall madness! We did already have plans to go to the downtown REI store again as well as another store around the area. It wasn't too crazy at all though, and we came back home after that. Noah had fun playing in this super soft kayak they have at REI...along with other things. Last weekend we also got a gate! Since we are always trying to do something in the kitchen....we didn't want an accident. He is doing fine with the gate...and we don't have to climb over our nice chair anymore!

While Thanksgiving is always a special time, it was truly a special time as we celebrated our first big holiday with our baby boy! Noah had a very busy day! He began his day by running around doing errands. He took a short nap and off we went to see family! We were very glad to be able to stay in the area....so daddy didn't have to drive. First we went to spend time with Omar's famiiy and then we headed to the Lopez' for some turkey....gobble gobble! Noah had his first turkey and stuffing. He liked it. In the end, it didn't matter where we were, the most important thing was seeing Noah so happy all day long. We do thank both of our families for the great food and the time spent together.

Okay....lots of new pictures! Momma finally uploaded pictures since last week. Our Noah is doing well. Super active, eating a lot more and drooling a lot more too! He has at least one more tooth coming through that we can see, poor baby. Noah saw his abuelitos over the weekend, and hung out at the downtown REI store. We were window shopping but will go back there on Friday! Both daddy and Noah enjoy REI!

Our baby will be having his first Thanksgiving....we are really excited! If we don't post anything before then, we hope everyone is able to take a break away from everything and thank your loved ones and close friends. I know I am thankful for a loving and supportive husband and my baby boy...who just amazes me everyday! Noah is truly an angel and we are both so grateful we were blessed with him.

9 month checkup!

On Friday, Noah went in for his nine month checkup. The doctor says he looks very active, very well developed, and very smart! He now weighs about 24 lbs., and grew 3 whole inches since his last visit! He is now 30 inches! He does seem so much taller, and we can tell because he can reach so much more! Noah is still in 95+ percentile, and fell just on the border of the 90 percentile for his weight, but is still very healthy. The doctor says his weight is fine since he is so active now. All good news to mommy and daddy! Oh and sadly he had to get the flu shot and another routine one, but he was so brave! We are so proud of our angel.

Momma is still in denial that her little baby is getting bigger! It's gone by WAY too fast! He is picking up his own food now and actually eating it instead of smashing it in his hand and dropping it, as he was doing a few weeks ago. He is really good at drinking out of his sippy cup. He makes mommy and daddy laugh so much when he squints...we say ojitios - and he will squint, it's the cutest thing. Then he gives his parents so many kisses, we love our baby boy so much.

Last Friday we took our first family road trip and first trip ever! Yeah I know it only took nine months you must be saying. We have gone places...but not as far as Lincoln City, Oregon (on the 101 coast). We must say that our baby did so well! He was an angel and a big boy in the car seat. He only got a bit frustrated at the end, reaching the resort only because it was pitch dark outside. He was so happy to get to the room...and uhhmm remodel!

We did get to check out a few shops, but it was just too windy to get Noah outside and risk him getting a bad cold! Momma took most of the pictures, recorded some on the camcorder, while baby did the following - slept. Oh and daddy drove of course! We picked some new toys for Noah, but he won't get them until Christmas...but we didn't have to pay taxes - yippie! We were glad to be home safe with our little angel.

For Halloween we planned to take Noah to our local mall and hopefully meet up with abuelito Lopez'. We went to trick or treat at the mall but grandparents couldn't make it. We did get a lot of candy....I mean Noah got a lot of candy and we were able to see his grandparents later that evening. On Sunday we took advantage of some of the last nice sunny days and took Noah outside to play with the leaves and get some pictures - that is if he would allow us! Trick or Treat! Part 1!

Today we had plans to see his abuelito Alvarado's and then do some trick or treating in Burien.....closer to their place. We had planned it for a few weeks and invited Omar's family, unfortunately his abuelita got a very unplanned flu and had to sit it out. They stayed home and couldn't hang out with their grandson. Luckily, tia Yuri came along! She was a big help...as it was the three of us walking him from store to store for a few blocks. Noah had fun, but I think his parents had way more fun watching their baby trick or treat for the first time! We will never forget these precious moments. The day was chilly but the sun made the day and walk really nice. We got a lot of pictures, but most importantly.... a lot of memories. After getting candy, for baby of course, we stopped to see his abuelitos. Since abuelita was really sick and baby was really tired we had to cut the visit short...there is always next time though!

Pumpkin Patch Day!

Yeah!!! We made it to the pumpkin patch today! After doing our morning errands, Noah took a good long nap, ate lunch, and off we went - down to the pumpkin patch! We couldn't have asked for a nicer fall afternoon. The sun was bright and no rain in sight! It was still breezy, but the sun helped keep baby warm. Our stroll among the pumpkins was really fun, we enjoyed watching Noah touch the pumpkins and not know what to do. We brought back a few pumpkins and a lot of memories. Ohh...we stopped by abuelito Lopez' also! Check out the pictures from our busy but memorable day. Tomorrow we are trying to go see his other abuelito's and his tia Lilah.

We can't say it enough....we have been blessed with our baby Noah. He makes us smile everyday and shows us something new that he does each day as well. The last few days Noah has been doing a lot more talking...ok so it's baby talk...but parents always understand! We are so grateful that he eats well, sleeps well (especially at night), and is healthy and happy. We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend as a family. Our Noah turned 8 months on Saturday...as his daddy mentioned. We had a nice and relaxing weekend. Saturday we went out for breakfast and then to the market, but I forgot my camera in the car. Then we went home for Noah's nap and then headed to the mall and REI! Daddy picked up a really nice fleece vest and mittens for baby...their fall sale ended this weekend. Then we went to have lunch at Sushiland! Mommy and daddy haven't treated themselves to sushi in way too long! Noah was sooo good...he's such a happy baby, he makes complete strangers smile! Sunday we saw his abuelito Alvarado's and it was his tia's birthday a few days ago...so he went to wish her a happy one! Hopefully he can see his abuelito Lopez' this week. ...is sure getting around! He suddenly forgot what sitting and laying down are. He only knows crawling and standing...and trying to move when he stands. We are starting to walk him around as he seems to be so strong. Noah seems to be in a hurry to do so many things. Today he finally let go from where he was standing holding on to try and sit, but I think he may have gotten scared and pretty much went face first! Whenever he falls he looks to momma for a reaction. I can't overreact or else he will cry, so this time I cheered him on and congratulated him on letting go and getting back down to the ground, he smiled....instead of panicked. He always enjoys us reading to him, I'm glad he likes his books. He enjoys when momma blasts the music for him during the day, he will fall asleep surprisingly! He likes helping momma and daddy whenever he can, he's momma's big helper when daddy is at work.

This weekend was busy, having to do our stuff and visiting the family. We mainly stayed home because of the rain. We still went to the farmers market, got some fruit for Noah and then went to get more clothes for him too. He's growing alot and leaving his baby clothes. Yesterday he was very needy, his right canine tooth is still coming out and he's very unconfortable. He likes me to rock him to sleep every night. He's very active during the day, and we are always tired by the end of the day. It doesn't matter how much he's hurting or how unconfortable, he always gives us a big smile and a kiss when he sees us. We love our boy.

Today was finally a relaxing day, although we went out and went to a wedding. Noah's aunt Andrea's brother was getting married...if you understood that! It was a nice wedding. We are all happy the weekend is finally here! As for last weekend we saw both sets of abuelitos and picked up some new toys for Noah and two new warm hats....it's starting to get chilly! We baked cookies and just hung out relaxing. This weekend we have some places to go and we are hoping to attend a wedding. We'll try to go to the market on Saturday morning as our baby Noah is out of pears, peaches (almost), and apples! His daddy weighed him after his bath and although it isn't exact, we think Noah now weighs 25lbs or more!! We both have noticed he has grown in length for sure! Our baby is growing so fast. Momma loves that he will give me kisses out of no where, he knows that I love when he gives momma love! It's so sweet, he does it with dada too!

As for other things, we've been following the news about WaMu....pretty sad. We have mutual friends still at the company and our thoughts are with you all during this crazy time. Hope you are all able to leave it behind for the weekend and enjoy some time with family and friends.

Noah and family have been doing well. Our baby is definetly keeping us busy. He has understood that crawling will get him places he shouldn't be....so he has learned how to crawl fast! He hardly lays down anymore...he either sits, stands or crawls to some interesting thing. Daddy brushed his teeth for the first time the other day....it was so cute, and Noah loves his teeth being brushed - surprisingly. This past week, Noah and momma did a lot of walking, or actually momma did a lot of walking! Noah was sleeping for over an hour outside on our walk - however fall is approaching fast so we'll have to take our walks to the mall. Check out some new pictures, I am still trying to catch up! It's been a long time since momma has written anything, and I can say so much here now but I will try to keep it semi-short so that you can read! Our baby turned 7 months today...actually JUST a few minutes ago!

Things he has done lately...or his firsts are: He had spaghetti for the first time on Tuesday and he stood up to the couch by himself! He is crawling...but hasn't really realized he can actually get farther than he thinks! His teeth are coming so fast! He has 4 teeth coming out on top! He already has his bottom two! He loves to geek out like his daddy and still loves his books. Only a few pictures have been uploaded this week, however we plan to upload a lot more next week! Since our last posting, we have been busy with Noah, his top teeth are coming out and he's been really needy. We are making his food every weekend for the week. still loving his apples, "peaches up in here". Last week he tried lentils for the first time. I made them the way my mom used to make them for us when we were little. We processed them and put them through a sifter to get rid of the skin. He loved it.

This is momma's posting...trying to catch up to daddy's multiple postings! What can I say about our family? I know I am very lucky to have a wonderful, loving, very hardworking husband, and such a great daddy to our baby! I am also lucky to have my little Noah...he is the best - the love I have for him is something I have never felt. Two words to express how I feel about my family....very blessed!

Noah is standing more and still working on his sitting. We were finally successful in finding him a space saver high chair that Noah will actually fit! He likes it too...and he still has room to grow into it. Now he eats at the table between his daddy and myself. He tried butternut squash last week and liked it. We picked up a new baby recipe book, so hopefully we can start making more yummy fresh food for baby. He finally had some apple juice for the first time this morning as well, and as expected - he liked it!

This weekend was another busy but very fun and relaxing weekend...if you can believe that! We did a lot of errands we had to, Noah finally went swimming with his daddy, but most importantly....we spent a lot of time - just the three of us. Noah is getting so much more active and he puts out his arms for both mommy and daddy...it's the sweetest.

Almost 6 months

Noah, will be 6 months tomorrow. Today we are going swimming to the local community pool, depending on how he does we may sign him up for swimming lessons. He loves splashing on the tub so he may just enjoy it.
This weekend, we had another busy one. We went to the farmer's market and bought him some veggies, he loves carrots, peaches, butternut squash, apples. We got some sweet peaches, they were cooked this morning and they are sweeter even than the ones they sell at the store. We are buying a whole box next week so we can save some for the peachless season. So Noah doesn't miss out. Last Thursday we also visited his Alvarado Abuelitos, he was a good boy with them but got tired and fell asleep they gave him a CD with classic songs, the ones I grew up with, available in iTunes. On Friday, we went to his Lopez' Abuelitos they had dinner for us and his cousins were there, they had just got back from Disneyland and brought him his "ears" He loves to have them on. We have a 6 month check up and shots for him on Friday, so I'll have a short day at work. I think Cindy will be posting something this week but if not we will post something next weekend.

On Saturday we went to our local farmer's market to get baby his fresh carrots, some peaches, and some fresh basil - to make pesto...for mommy and daddy! Later that afternoon we were going to Noah's aunt Paloma's birthday party. We almost didn't make it as Noah didn't nap...luckily he passed out as soon as he was in his carseat! We all wished Paloma a wonderful birthday...even if it was a few weeks late! Then Noah got to hang out with his Tia Lilah. We hadn't seen her in months! They were sooo cute together! Noah would hold her hand...and they did baby talk! It was sweet.

As Omar mentioned, baby Noah is sleeping more. He might be needing all this sleep for all the growing he is doing. Sometimes I look at our baby and he looks so big! He is nearing his half birthday and he is making his parents proud everyday! We go for his six month checkup in about two weeks. He continues to eat very well! He enjoys his whole grain cereal now. We have added this to give him a change from rice cereal, so he doesn't get too bored of one. He really likes his breakfast with fruit. We hope to get him sweet peas or green beans this weekend, maybe spinach in chicken broth - he loved the chicken broth we made for him last weekend.

Since Noah started solids, he's been sleeping more. Yesterday he slept all night, and woke up at 11 am. Cindy called me at work to let me know and she was concerned but turns out he's just getting enough nutrients to get him by and his body is resting more for the development he's going trough. He keeps sleeping lots.

This weekend was a very productive weekend. We caught up on all of our pending things. We went to Babies R Us to get our growing boy new things he needs. He no longer fits on his bouncer and needs a booster seat for his meals. Since he has been eating his chicken, veggies, fruits. He loves his home made apple sauce. We made a batch of fuji apples and he loved it. I went to the grocery store and the freshest apples I found were Gala apples. they are not as sweet as Fuji's but thew are super fresh. Cindy loves to make his (Noah) baby food, in the food processor. I got him some pears but we forgot them on the stove and burnt them.
He got an activity station by Baby Einstein, he loved it we got him his booster seat but he's too big for it and will have to return it this week. We went to check out OR they have a quarterly sale, We like it because of their quality outdoor stuff. We are specially interested in rain gear for the cold season.

First Hike!

On Saturday we took advantage of the nice warm weekend and went out on our first family hike! It wasn't extremely difficult...but it was a start. We walked around Discovery Park. Noah loved hanging out on daddy's back and watching everything. He liked our time just sitting under a tree by the water - it was good family time. Afterwards, we went to Alki to eat fish and chips for lunch...yum! Oh then we picked up Noah's new convertible car seat. Yes, he already outgrew his infant car seat - but this new nice one should last us up until 65lbs. Sigh...he's growing up so fast.

5 Months Old!

While we don't have an official baby scale, we do have a regular scale that told us Noah is now 19 lbs! He looks longer to both mommy and daddy but we won't know exactly how long until his next scheduled appointment at 6 months. In the meantime, he has had some major things going on! His two bottom teeth are more clearly showing, and the top gums are getting more swollen. He said "daddy" only a little bit ago...it was cute, yes even though momma was like ...what? I still love the fact that he beams up whenever Omar or I walk up to him. He is doing well with the solids...and we are going to keep adding to his menu! Come back and keep reading!

Noah is 5 monts today in about 18 minutes, and at short of 5 months he's already made daddy proud more than once. Today as he was playing with momma, he said Dadda! We heard it and encouraged to keep saying and he kept repeating. We were very proud of our boy. Momma was sad but happy, she was proud of our boy too.

Noah has officially mastered turning over on the bed! We have to be extra careful now! That means momma leaves him in his crib even when running to just wash my hands. Today was another hot day...I think it was mid-80's...okay nothing compared to what our family in CA is going through...but this is Seattle. :) In the morning we went to our local farmers market and then had lunch. We waited for Noah to take a nap then it was just way too hot to stay in the house so we went to the coolest place we could think of - The Auburn Super Mall! Noah needed some more light clothes so we wanted to go check out some stores...we found some good onesies for him - of course 18+months in everything! I don't know what my baby will be wearing when he turns one year old...lol! Here is myself and baby at the market. He is finally getting a tan on those light colored feet!

Other than his checkup last week, our baby is doing new things almost everyday. He is laughing, grasping things very well (like holding his bottle), and beginning to copy our actions. One day about two weeks ago..I was just trying to entertain him by patting my knee...when he surprised me by doing the exact same thing! He really enjoys when we read to him and enjoys his flash cards too. Oh...and solids haven't been a problem so far - thank goodness! He is mmm-ing at bananas and rice cereal so far. We will introduce a vegetable by this weekend perhaps. We'll tell you how that goes! Also, his daddy got him his own set of spoons and bowls...yes we know...our baby is spoiled.

Four month check up

The checkup went well. Noah is 95 + percentile on everything! He was 18lbs 5oz and almost 28 inches! The doctor says that he is very strong and seems like a really healthy baby boy...or big boy as she said. Oh...and the doctor checked his teeth! The two bottom teeth are coming out...they are already visible. Everything went well at the visit...well - until his shots! It was sad as always...he wasn't happy with the nurse - I don't blame him. Here he was...before the shots.

This morning, Cindy sent me an SMS telling me that Noah needs solids, she had been doing some reading about babies first food. To be exact she was going trough a book that Andrea gave us (Andrea is her Sister in law). She told me that Noah was showing all the signs of a baby that is wanting food. I, of course got super excited. When I got home Cindy made dinner and we had dinner at the table. Later she reminded me of something she had mentioned earlier and I didn't really make much of it. She said Noah's teeth are coming out. I checked his mouth and sure enough, they were showing. I got even more excited. Earlier though we also gave him his first taste of "real food", I gave him some banana, he didn't' know what to make of it. He felt the flavor and started swallowing. He didn't have any reactions (yet) so we will keep feeding him some. I guess today is a big milestone in Noah's life, Congratulations my son!

Our baby boy has been battling a bad stomach virus, however, he is finally starting to show signs of improvement. Nothing other than a lot of diaper changes has been wrong with him, but it has been sad to see. He has been in such great spirits despite his illness. He is liking the sit up position more...although he is still struggling a bit to do it on his own - he is so much stronger! He has done his real giggles and they are so adorable. Finally...some real nice weather! Although right before this nice weather came ...there were some grey and windy days! Shortly after Mother's Day, momma got the flu and cough for two or three days straight...now she's feeling better. However, daddy got sick right after me and little Noah has a few more sneezes than usual but is okay so far. The baby isn't quiet sure what to think of this warm weather and that bright sun! I think he enjoyed it on Saturday as we spent the day just the three of us - we went shopping! And daddy spoiled our son of course! For dinner, daddy made some delicious hamburgers...Yum! Sunday was mostly spent indoors although we stopped by abuelita Lopez' for a little while to store our Christmas boxes. Noah spent some time with abuelita. Family has been resting and we will be trying to pick up our apartment. We have been downstairs mostly as it is 80 degrees plus upstairs. Below is baby Noah out enjoying our weekend!

Happy Mother's day to all momma's out there! This was my first one and it was sure memorable! First I have the best husband and the most wonderful baby boy that spoiled me with breakfast, a special surprise and a big beautiful bouquet of red roses! I love my man and my little man! I must say that I am a very lucky mom, I could not have asked for a more precious baby! He brings smiles to my face everyday and I cannot even begin to describe the love I have for him. I am grateful for my family and also thankful to my parents for teaching me how to appreciate and love a baby. Happy Mother's day to my momma too! Although we typically celebrate it on the Sunday...so we will see her tomorrow. This weekend was really good, we had a stay at home Saturday with the exception of the evening which we used to go to the Lopez' for dinner. They had Caldo , and with the weather it was perfect. Andrea took some apple turnover it was low in sugar which made it really good, I had it with vanilla ice cream. On Saturday, we got up late and let Noah sleep a little before we went out. We went to the Alvarado's for lunch. And they were surprised how much bigger he's (Noah) getting. We came back home and then I ran to Costco because we were dangerously low in Milk. I still have to get some other groceries today but not as critical. I left my boy asleep today he's been sleeping really well. He only wakes up for night time feedings but doesn't even cry. While I was talking to Andrea on Saturday, she mentioned that I needed to have a "girl" and that she needed to be very needy and cry a lot more, just to get the real baby experience. It makes me feel grateful for my boy being so calm. I hope he turns out that way. I think it helps that we try to help him out and keeping him from getting too angry before we give him what he needs.
Back at work on Monday, just another day at work, was fine. Had lunch at Wild tiger pizza in Westlake Center, Took the bus and came back in about 30 minutes. I came out of work and went to the store at Metropolitan Market to get groceries and had some home made hamburgers with the really good meat from Met-market.

...was nice but always too short. Friday was sushi night and Noah was so great as always! Then momma was treated to a tall java chip frappaccino from Starbucks! Mmm! Saturday we spent the evening at the Lopez' after buying bear his really nice REI hiking backpack! Well...actually after Noah's really long nap between...lol. We can't wait to use his backpack...that's if we even get a summer! Today we went to abuelito Alvarado's house for lunch and got back this afternoon. Ya hace tiempo que no escribo nada nuevo. Bueno, nuestro bebé Noah sigue creciendo, hemos estado mirando su ropa que lla no le queda, y lla esta usando ropa de nueve meses. Tambien tuvimos que comprarle una nueva tina de baño por que la que compramos hace 2 meses lla no es adecuada para su tamaño. Sus pies ya llegan a el extremo y saca toda el agua cuando se exita.
Cindy tambien esta bien, y me da mucho gusto mirarla cuando salgo de trabajar, y que tan contenta esta con Noah. Me da mucho gusto mirarla como cuida a mi bebé. Noah se pone bien contento cuando yo llego de trabajar. Lo acuesto en la cama conmigo y leemos juntos o platicamos. Le gusta mucho cuando le platico.
Como dice Cindy en su blog, cada dia que pasa estamos mas anciosos de tener buen clima para poder sacar a nuesto hijo al parque, a caminar en las montañas o inclusive a caminar en la ciudad. Llevarlo a el mercado de el Cenro de la Ciudad. Ahora he estado buscando un remolque de bicicleta para pasear a Noah, tenemos nuestras bicicletas pero no podemos dejar a Noah solo. Este fin de semana vamos a tratar de buscar uno no muy caro.
Voy a tratar de escribir mas en español para la familia pero no se quien nos esta mirando. Si pueden dejarme un mensaje haganlo aqui para saver quien nos visita aqui.

Listening to the birds chirping outside this morning while baby Noah is asleep. It actually seems like a nice spring day outside! We can't wait for nicer weekend weather so that Noah can enjoy the outdoors. Our baby is doing well...keeps getting bigger. We bought a scale to make sure he wasn't losing weight because he seems to have left his formula supplement for the most part. But this is good news! Since his two month checkup just over two weeks ago he has gained at least another pound and half...and appears to us to have grown in length as well. We won't know accurately until his four month checkup in June. We were happy to see he is still gaining despite not drinking hardly anymore formula...it's all breastfeeding now! He is only two and a half months old but seems bigger to us. He is growing up so fast! Well it was his bath night last night....check out the latest pictures.

Noah is napping right now - he's had a long day...haha! We are both happy that it is almost Friday! Friday means daddy is with us for a few days...all day. Noah is growing more and more everyday...leaving more and more clothes. Momma had fun putting him in his dinosaur outfit from his uncle Victor. Today is his bath night...he still loves the water, however is getting too big for his bathtub! We love every moment with our baby and cherish all of his smiles and conversations with us. We are hoping to get out this weekend, maybe downtown Seattle - it will all depend on the weather!

Two Month Checkup

We took baby Nøah to the clinic on Friday afternoon for his checkup and unfortunately his shots too. He has grown in all categories! Momma was super shocked by his weight! Although daddy wasn't because he won five bucks for having the closest guess to his weight. Nøah is now 24 1/2 inches and weighs 15lbs. 3oz! Doctor says he is very healthy and very alert, all good signs. As for the shots, momma cried of course and baby is still a little cranky this morning. We will take it easy today with him...hopefully try and get outside. It is a beautiful day outside today!

Baby and momma haven't posted anything in a few weeks....been crazy! Nøah has been fine...momma's the one that got a fever due to an infection. I got antibiotics that were safe for me and the baby and am a lot better now. The baby is getting bigger as you can see by the new pictures we've posted...that's taken some time to do and I only get a few minutes to do this while Noah is asleep or when daddy is here! I don't like leaving him alone while I get on the computer....we like to read, play with his balloon, play on his play mat, take pictures to send to daddy, or do some tummy time (which momma just started doing more of these last few days only). I'll post more tomorrow hopefully after Nøah's two month checkup. Sadly though...he is going in for his shots. :( We'll see how he does...I pray that he does well - I know I'll be crying for sure!

Ohh...and my cousins were in town this week, we've posted new pictures of Noah with them. They leave this evening after being in Seattle for a week. Noah thanks his uncle Jr. and aunties for the new outfits! Keep reading and emailing us!

Today was a great day! Noah and daddy told me to reserve Saturday as they had plans for me. They told me to be ready at a certain time and then they drove me away! I was so surprised when they dropped me off for a break from mommy duties to get a manicure and pedicure with my manicurist since six years ago in Seattle. She actually ran out to the car to see the baby...it was cute. Anyway...it was such a nice and super sweet surprise! I relaxed for a whole hour and then the two men in my life came back to pick me up. Omar then had cake...ice cream cake - YUM...and dinner for me and his family stopped by. It was a really nice day with my family! Thank you my great husband!

We are as happy as when we found out Noah was on his way, we have had a few nights without sleep (Cindy mostly), but have had more smiles with him. This week he has been just like always, calm, sleepy, and eats a lot. As Cindy's post tells, he's gained almost 3 pounds from birth, not counting the 1 pound he lost when he came out. On Thursday afternoon, we went to Noah's one month checkup. It was with a new clinic and doctor, but his doctor is a really nice lady. Noah is doing very well...as mom and dad figured. We were thinking he had probably reached 11lbs...in fact he's almost reached 12lbs! He has gained about a total of 3lbs since being released from the hospital on February 14. He lost almost a whole pound in the first days after he was born...but it was only eleven percent so it wasn't anything startling. He has also grown in length! He is now 22 inches...he was born 21. Both mommy and daddy are happy with their big boy! I love the smiling he is doing when he looks at us.

Noah has reached a milestone today...one month old! It already seems like my baby is growing up so fast! I want to bake him something for his big day...unfortunately I am left with VERY little time to do anything besides feeding him...changing him...and oh yeah - listening to our daily music! He has mastered recognizing both mommy and daddy and following not only us but objects and toys. He sits with us at dinner in his bouncer of course...or sometimes in momma's arms. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy! He's our angel!

On Saturday we went to visit Noah's auntie LIlah (who is only three days older than Noah). She is a cute little girl. Noah spent most of the time sleeping so they didn't get to talk much! After that visit we went to the mall for a little while where we found some things for Noah and his cousin Maya...and momma finally got a java chip frappacinno from Starbucks! It was a really nice treat. When we got back home, Omar's parents stopped by to see the baby. Then tonight (Sunday) we went to Maya's birthday party...she turned four last Saturday but they had a late gathering because they just moved into their new home. Noah is doing well in the car on the way to these places...he likes the ride - but not if he is hungry! Okay..time to go to bed...hopefully!

Big Day...Umbilical Cord OFF!

Today at 4 o'clock Noah finally lost his umbilical cord! Daddy had just returned from getting his haircut and I was picking the baby up for daddy to take when I saw the umbilical piece laying on the bed. It was really exciting. His belly button looks good...no weird stuff left behind, a clean belly button. So Noah was two weeks and five days today with a big event. He had another big event last night...he did his first giggle...it was super cute. We are looking forward to so many more firsts.

This is our last Saturday before daddy goes back to work - it's going to be hard on Monday morning. :( We had a good family day today. Noah fell back asleep after a late morning feeding and we fell asleep right with him. He was up in the afternoon listening to his music with daddy while mommy had a chance to shower. Then his abuelitos came by with auntie Fatima. Last night abuelita Lopez came by with lots of food and Noah was really good with her and her abuelitos tonight as well. It's almost ten and he is still asleep but almost ready to eat...so I must go!

Today is Friday and I'm a little sad I have to leave my baby Noah and Cindy to go back to work. I will be thinking of them all day, I hope I can concentrate at work. Noah has been doing really good, he's a wonderful baby, he sleeps some times we have to wake him up to eat because he sleeps like a Bear. He smiles every day and makes silly faces. This week was Cindy's check up at the clinic and the midwife said she looked great. We are going to be posting a video soon with an update and with baby on it. In the mean time check out the pictures. Oh, yeah! Umbilical cord still attached, Noah's taking his time to let it go. We managed to clean the apartment a little but still needs more help. Cindy will probably be posting more later so I'll leave something for her to say. :)

It's mid-afternoon now and just finished eating some delicious chicken with salsa and a great salad. Due to my (momma's) healing process, I have a limited diet right now which is keeping me from eating seafood, pork, and a lot of green veggies.....for now anyway. My incision is healing nicely and I continue to rest with Noah whenever possible so that I will be as strong as possible for when daddy goes back to work. Me and baby are very sad at the thought of this...but know it has to happen - either way...we'd rather have daddy here with us.

Noah has been napping for over two or three hours now! Mommy took advantage of that and rested also, and is now writing this entry. Earlier however, around eleven in the morning we ventured outside for the first time as a family going some place other than the clinic! There is a big sale going on at Babies R Us that ends this weekend and we were interested in picking up a bouncer or swing and a few other things we still needed. Luckily for us grandpa and grandma Lopez' gave us a gift card to this store which will help with so much stuff we still need for our little one. Noah was really good the whole time, and even left a little souvenir in the store....like a dirty diaper! Daddy was the best and changed him...as I was still afraid to do this in public....something I'll have to get over REAL soon! We purchased a fancy bouncer and a simpler one to see which one Noah will like (if any). We picked up a few accessories...oh and a nice Chicco baby carrier....can't wait to use that for our walks. Oh ....and because baby Noah was craving some chocolate from See's Candies - daddy was our hero and bought us some! Here are some pics from today...enjoy! Keep visiting and leaving comments!

I was taking some photos today and turned on the flash, he then started closing his eyes and stayed very quiet as if he didn't want us to know he was awake. I noticed his squinting and just wanted to wait for him to open his eyes. I wasn't able to fool him so I kept takig the pictures. After I was done he opened his eyes wide open, what a munchkin!

Today was an interesting day. Little Noah started crying early in the morning and wouldn't go to sleep, we fed him, changed the diaper, checked the temperature and we thought we had everything. Well I remembered to check his umbilical cord and noticed some stains on his shirt. I checked closer and noticed he had been hurting it. It was uzzing a bit and we decided to take off his shirt and leave him on his diaper only. He was better. We got scared so we called the doctor to make sure he wasn't getting infected. Auntie Andrea came by to check out the umbilical cord. Went to the clinic and she told us that he was fine and that it would be a few days until it comes off. He slept a lot after that. We talked to family that we haven't talked to since before Noah was born.
We also have been receiving lots of emails and we are responding as we can, so if you emailed us and you haven't got a response don't feel bad we are going to get back to you. Thank you all for your good wishes.

Update on baby and mom...after 8 days

An update from momma...finally! Noah is just over a week now and doing well...after our diarrhea scare. He is overall a calm baby boy who likes to sleep, eat, and leave us gifts in his diaper! We went for another checkup today and he is healthy...having gained 12oz. since our visit on Friday. Baby Noah loves being talked to...and he will just gaze into your eyes with his big dark eyes that makes me melt everytime! He has the darkest, silkiest hair - we are curious to see if it will get curly eventually or stay straight like mine.

Mom has been recovering...it has been slow - I had a good day yesterday but I think I over-exherted myself sometime this morning because I am very sore and achy today, daddy picked up a little more with Noah because I was in a lot of pain. Daddy has been great...we don't know what we would do without him! He takes care of both of us with so much love and care...he amazes me everyday, and I couldn't ask for anything more. I am very grateful for my family.

Not diarrhea!

We went to the doctor this morning and found out he doesn't have diarrhea, we were just worried. Dr. said it is normal, nothing to worry about. They did draw blood from him again, PKU test. This is required by the state of Washington, Phenylketonuria, or PKU for short, is an inherited, genetic condition in which the body can’t process phenylalanine (Phe), an amino acid found in many foods. This excerpt comes from the PKU website
According to the nurse in 30 years she's done that test she has known about only one case that tested positive. This is completely treatable thus the need for the test.

We noticed loose stool this morning, very little on the diaper but later he had another light loose stool. This is the third one that he got and was alot. We found out that it was some apples that Cindy ate, they gave baby Noah a mild diarrhea. He's eating just as well but we are keeping an eye out for dehydration. We are monitoring his temperature and have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning at 8 am. He looks like a happy boy and we are making sure he's OK. Hey everyone!
We hope that you all have a great end of year and that the new one begins just as good. We are just getting ready for our baby to arrive. We have had many blessings this year and 2008 looks just as promising.
Baby Alvarado gave us a bit of a scare this week, we had to spend about 8 hours in the hospital. Cindy got contractions and the midwife asked us to bring her into the maternity hospital. They were monitoring baby and mom and they are both now good. She got medicine and baby Bear still kicking just as strong and stronger every day. He loves oranges, we have had more oranges in the past months than I have had in years.

Thank you all for a great year, we are very happy you have been with us in every happy moment of our new life.
Thanks to the help and support we accomplished one of our most important events of our lifes. We got married and are now extremely happy to receive our first little bundle of joy A.K.A Bear. We are expecting to have a healthy baby on February 14th, 2008. Most of the baby stuff is ready but we keep going to the birthing classes every Tuesday. After battling a real bad cold for over two weeks, I have finally started feeling better. My husband has taken great care of me and little baby every day. We went to dinner last night for our six year dating anniversary. We stayed in the local area to have dinner because it was Sunday and we both had to work early on Monday. We ate at Red Lobster and the food was good, but suprisingly service was a little slow - other than that we had a great dinner ...all three of us!

We arrived in San Jose and were super hungry....and we couldn't find an In-n-Out fast enough! So...baby had their first In-n-Out! :) It was yummy! Then we drove over to see family in Hanford. Days went by too fast but it was nice to see the family and the new family member....little Damien - he's a good little boy.

Hello Family and Friends!

We hope that everyone is doing well. Since it is hard to keep in touch with each and everyone of you on a more regular basis, we decided to send an email to everyone.

I'm sure a few of you haven't believed my(Cindy) recent weight gain for an early jump start to holiday weight! ;) Others have probably had ideas but have not wanted to say anything. So…we wanted to clear things up and share the great news! Omar and I wanted to announce that we are pregnant! :)

A few of you may have already known, but we wanted to wait until the end of the first trimester to tell you all. We can't wait to find out if we will have a boy or a girl. An ultrasound in a few weeks will hopefully let us know. We heard the baby's heartbeat a few weeks ago and it sounds real strong. We are due in late February and can't wait for our first baby to come into this world!

As most of you know, we had a website for our wedding. We are currently updating that so that all of you can check it out and see our progress over the upcoming months.

Now we don't have to be shy about our holiday pounds – Daddy included!! Ha ha! ;)

Week 24

This week, was a better week for Momma, she has been getting better from her cold but still coughing, she's starting to be unconfortable when sleeping because there are only so many ways she can sleep. This week was check up week, the doctor says baby Alvarado is doing really good, they listened to his heart and the Midwife says he's got a healthy one.
This week has been full of parties. First on Thursday Dayton turned 2, he had a cake with the Lopez' side. Baby Alvarado was really happy during the party. He was kicking with the noise of all the kids running around.

Momma's belly keeps groing, she's eating well and also resting alot. We spend time trying to feel little Bear kicking, this is so exciting when he responds to our voices.

Week 23 update

As week 23 ends, there have been many good things to the pregnancy. Momma has been sick for the past 2 weeks and finally getting better. She's not coughing as much. During this whole sickness, little Bear has been a brave young man, he keeps kicking like a little karate kid. I have woken up in the middle of the night becouse momma can't sleep and little one wants to play. He gets really active in the wee hours of the morning. Papa bear talks, he kicks. This is the most incredible feeling!
Today we went to a "baby proofing" seminar at the local Babys R Us. We learned about how to make things safer for the baby. Door locks, kitchen area, Etc. We got this website that I have to research a little more, called Safe Kids this website has English and Español checklists for safety In almost all situations. Pool, Halloween, Fire, water safety, you get the idea. We have our monthly check up this week and will have information about the progress of the baby.

Well it was about time we set up a page for our little one.
At this point we are on our 22nd week. It has been pretty special, coming back from California we have had more time to rest and make sure little is received with the most love possible.
We will try to keep the rest of the pregnancy updates, pictures and news. here at least once a week trough the pregnancy and beyond.

Sleep, eat, sleep eat... (poop too)

Baby Noah is a great baby, he has been eating and sleeping, eating and sleeping, ohh! yeah and pooping too. He has such a mild temper, he wakes up licking his lips letting us know he's hungry, if we miss the cue then he starts crying but we hardly even let him get upset (this far). We came home and had a mess of stuff we started sorting his clothes from smallest to biggest and saved the smaller ones. Despite his weight he fits new born to 3 months. He is more long than he is chubby. Grandmas brought Caldo de pollo yesterday, both of them. They both came yesterday. My sister is coming to see him today and will also bring him some food (for us of course).

We finally made it back home today, after 5 days in the hospital. I'm happy to report that the baby Noah and Momma are doing great. We are going to rest for the next two days at home. We are going to sleep as much as we can while he's napping.
The ride home was not bad, he cried from the hospital bed to the car and then he fell asleep. He's still sleeping now and Cindy is taking a well deserved nap. Me on the other hand, will be running some errands, getting groceries, and doing some cleaning that we didn't do before we left to the hospital. Thank you every one for being so attentive to find out how we were doing. I am also sorry I didn't return every one's call. I will be calling back as soon as we get settled back in.

We are going to head out to the hospital in about 15 minutes. We are to be there at 10:00. We are having a quick breakfast and get there. We had a good night sleep, no need for Cindy to take the sedative in case she couldn't We will be back with a baby. We are back at home. After monitoring for about 4 hours the midwife sent us home. There are no contractions so she gave us an appointment for 10:00 AM tomorrow unless anything happens. It is about 15% of women whose water break before the contractions start and about 75% of those women have their baby within 24 hours.
Baby looks healthy, momma looks healthy but tired. We are going to try to sleep tonight and get ready for tomorrow. It may be a long day. I will not be updating this site because I will not have access to it but follow my Twitter here I will be sending updates constantly.

Blue Ball review

Last week while looking for some soothing bath, aromatherapy we walked into Bath and Body Works and found a massager for using when the labor pains start. We were lookning for a tennis ball but didn't see one at Target. As we looked throug the bubble bath stuff I found a blue massager. At the end we ended up finding a better one. ~~I can't find the right one on the website but it is a ball that rolls. inside of a holder, looks like an oversize "Roll on" deodorant except that this one is blue and heavy.~~ This actually creates no friction on the skin or clothes and rolls freely giving a better experience. It really helps Cindy rest. The price is about $20.00 but it is a well spent twenty. For the person massaging with it it takes no strength to actually make it work and it feels just as soothing. I have even fallen asleep to it. I highly recommend it even for non pregnant people, just to have on hand to have your better half help you rest.

Creeping up on 40th week...

It's Thursday night...family just got done watching a new episode of Lost....and we just have more questions. We are enjoying the show while we can because we will be on baby's schedule soon - or so I hope! I am nearing the 40th week....and I haven't had any strong contractions in about a week - nothing that has caught my attention anyway. I am just so anxious to see our little guy...he's just not coming fast enough. His auntie is scheduled to come into this world tomorrow by c-section, and if there is no activity tonight then we hope to go visit her in Seattle. That's if I'm very motivated to ride the bus to meet daddy! I am at the point where I cannot sit for very long...and an hour bus ride isn't the greatest right now. We'll try our best though. Mom and baby will continue to keep you posted of how we are doing. Keep checking back!

39th and a half Week visit to midwife

Today we had our visit to the midwife, she told us everything is great. Baby is in position and with the head down (where it should be).

Momma's progress:
She's very tired, and still taking baths to soothe the pain on her hips and pelvis. She's hungry as a hippo, and eats all my strawberries. She gained 3 pounds since the last visit. Although she lost 2 last week to stomach problems. She's dialated about 1 cm. but there aren't any signs of baby coming.

Baby's progress:
He keeps moving and kicking momma, he's very active all day and night. He likes for Daddy to read to him every night He's getting big by the minute.

Daddy's progress: He's growing more and more anxious to see his mini me. He keeps dreaming of him and day dreaming even at work. Getting ready for the sleepless nights to come.

After our appointment we went to REI to pick up an order from back in December but found that it had been returned to the distribution center. We got refunded anyway. Cindy got hungry and wanted to go to Cheese Cake Factory. We shared a plate and came home. It's only Wednesday....

Surprise Baby Shower

A little update from momma-to-be....it's been too long! I am almost full term and the little guy doesn't want to come out yet because maybe he knows it's too cold outside. Baby and I are doing okay, as best we can with him sitting low in position and mom having to visit her best friend (bathroom) every night...every hour! Yesterday baby and I were completely surprised by a baby shower thrown by Omar's sister and family. I really was surprised and Omar will be the first to tell anyone that it is a HUGE task in itself to try and surprise me...haha. My family attended and my close friend Lupe and her baby girl were there among other family friends. It was such a nice surprise and it was fun with a lot of good food. Yuri (Omar's sister) and Omar's mom made enchiladas and rice and their very special jello....that takes hours just to create. Baby got so many more pieces of clothes that I am excited to put on him and of course take lots of pictures! We also got very nice Babies R' Us gift cards so that we can go get some other items for the baby. I think the item that made everyone laugh was Uncle Meno's dinosaur outfit....the outfit came with claws on the socks! Dad, baby and I had a really nice time and thank everyone that came and especially those that helped bring it together. Gracias!

39 weeks

Baby Bear is almost here, we are all dreaming about him. My dad had a dream he got in a fight with his cousin because he dropped baby bear in the water. Mom (Alvarado) dreamed that she had a nursery ready for the baby. Fatima also dreamed him. My sister Yuri also dreamed a light dimpled baby.

Momma (Cindy) has been feeling contractions and her feet are getting swollen. She has been feeling lots of pressure on her pelvis area, she takes baths every night to lower the pressure. Cindy keeps waking up during the night because of discomfort sleeping. She can hardly move around.
We had an appointment last Thursday, baby is ready and on the right position. He's been very active when I read him stories every night. We got him a few books and we read to him in Spanish and English.

The Season premiere of Lost

Today's premiere of Lost wasn't as exciting as I was expecting. I liked the finally of the last season better. There are a lot of hints about this season such as, "The Six", also what does it mean when Hurley says, "Are you here to see if I went nuts? To see if i would tell?" Who got saved? Is Charlie alive? Who are the people on the chopper?
ABC.com has stuff that I got to get to. Like "lost connections"

Baby starts carrying his own weight...

So it is 33º outside and she looks at me very sad craving ice cream. What does a father to be do? He looks for the hoodie, the scarf, the beenie, gloves and starts the car and gets to the local grocery store. In front of me there is a lady on the express line with 15 cupons and 15 items and the only register open is that one. What do people think when they see Ralphie's little brother ( in the "A christmas story" movie) running in the snow (that's what I looked like), with a basket full of ice cream? They stare and laugh, but oh well, that's Just what father and husband does.
The good thing is that baby alvarado starting to hold his own food. :)

So since yesterday's scare we did a lot of work we finally packed for momma. A little suitcase with the essentials for the delivery. Toiletries, robe, and a change of clothes for the way back home. We also purchased some more clothes and hats for the baby. We will have a live birthday broadcasted the day of the birth. (I hope I remember the camera).
